It was because of AN Atenean

October 4, 2008

The person behind the Ateneo bonfire incident already confessed and admitted his fault. He is Jesse Paredes, an Ateneo alumnus and former Standard Today columnist. He is also the  brother of musician Jim Paredes. Huh. What can I say, he is a respectable personality indeed, but his act didn’t show it.  (pertaining “only” to that incident)

Here is his apology letter addressed to Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ, President of ADMU.

3 October 2008

Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ
President
Ateneo de Manila University

Dear Fr. Nebres,

I write this letter for two reasons. The first one is to own up to producing the materials with the names of the Green Archers and placing them prominently in the woodpile before the bonfire for all to see.

Secondly, I sincerely apologize to you for the queasy situation you are in as a result of the backlash it created.

While the nature of this letter is a personal apology to you, please feel free to extend it to parties you may deem fit to receive it.

Sincerely,

Jesse Paredes
HS’54, AB’58

Honestly, the apology is all we need. Admitting his fault just proves he’s being an Atenean. I hope this would settle all the issues. Peace. Go Ateneo! Animo La Salle!

OK , but I still think ….He SHOULD Directly apologize to the Greenarchers and the Lasallian Community .. and not make Fr. Nebres apologize in his behalf……

    peace

    Animo Lasalle Forever!!!

he should apologize not just to the lasallian community and the green archers..he should also apologize to all the schools whose names also appeared on the woods used in the bonfire. UE red warriors, UST growling tigers and UP fighting maroons to name a few. and also to the “THREE BLIND MICE.” his letter also seemed like it’s written by a grade school student.

Can anyone tell me if there was even one Atenean who attempted to take out the ‘branded’ pieces of wood when the tarp was lifted?

Wow, the guy apologized to a person other than the aggrieved party and let THAT person do the apologizing for him. What a coward! Truly a man for others.

There is beauty in simplicity. Marj is definitely not the type of person who splurges on trendy and overly expensive clothes and things but she shines nonetheless by being herself. There is a certain touch of quirkiness in her that never gets old. Although at times problems come her way, she faces them with a smile and a cheery outlook. Funny, optimistic and always energetic, she is liked by everybody and her company is always enjoyed.
